Job Description
In this position you will be a member of the Sales Team, based in our headquarters at Welwyn Garden City, responsible for all aspects of Sales Administration, Tenders and Sales contract review, submissions, and documentation support. You will be working closely with the Managing Director, Sales & Applications, Service & Administration teams and, from time to time, take part in office tasks and the organizational work for exhibitions. Knowledge and experience of working with CRM systems is desirable.
As part of your responsibilities for tenders’ administration you will be working to deadlines to submit tenders on time and according to the right quality. Success in this role means that research institutes will receive from us a timely and accurate offer/tender submission.
Summary of Responsibilities
• Maintain a record of all invitations to tenders, orders, and market activity
• Coordinate with the team in order to prepare and submit tenders in a timely manner
• Accountability for management of your own time and workload
• Maintain and update CRM records

• University Degree
• Excellent attention to details
• Good communication skills, especially written
• Clean UK Driving Licence

Job Description
The Sales Executive position is within the JEOL UK Sales Team, to further develop the market for Electron Microscopy and maximise the sales orders for the designated sales area.

The Sales Executive will be in charge of handling sales/account management activities for all assigned products/locations, defining and driving sales strategies, providing leadership and ensuring the achievement of business goals.
This role is best suited to a scientific graduate, post-doctoral scientist or existing scientific sales representative with a keen interest in microscopy, imaging, analysis and/or working with cutting-edge research development across a range of disciplines.
Summary of Responsibilities
• Take ownership of all sales/ account management responsibilities of specified products
• Define, align and implement the Account Strategy
• Maintain accurate forecasts
• Ownership of the sales process
• Understand individual customer’s requirements and take strategic action
• Confirm all configurations, specifications, quotations and acceptance conditions
• Prepare system demonstrations by working closely with the JEOL Application Teams
• Work with our Service Team to deliver on Customer Satisfaction
• Accountability for management of your own time and workload
You Have
• Minimum: Degree in scientific/technical studies (Desirable: PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Biological Sciences or similar)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex technical arguments
• Confident negotiation skills
• Clean UK Driving Licence
• Full current eligibility to work and live in the UK and travel internationally
Accountabilities
• Establish, develop and maintain good relationships with existing customers and to take responsibility for customer satisfaction
• Actively seek out and identify new customers and business opportunities
• Ensure existing and potential customers are aware of new product developments
• Maintain records of accounts and opportunities within the company CRM
• Maintain awareness of funding mechanisms for prospective customers, especially with regards to the Academic sector
• Analyse customers’ applications and requirements and provide appropriate technical and financial advice while taking account of delivery, installation and service requirements
• Following and assessment of customer needs, likely budget and timescales, provide customers with technical and applications information on appropriate JEOL products
• Endeavour to assist customers in the development and preparation of technical specifications at an early stage, prior to any purchasing process
• Prepare detailed, relevant and appropriate quotations and Tender responses
• Ensure demonstrators have sufficient information on customers’ requirements and samples to allow proper planning of demonstrations
• In collaboration with demonstrators, supervise, organise and manage customers before, during and after demonstrations to maximise the benefit of the demonstration
• Maintain and update background knowledge of instrumentation, techniques and new developments relevant to JEOL’s products. To maintain awareness of JEOL’s market trends and developments
• Keep informed and up to date on all JEOL products and applications
• Keep informed and up to date on competitors’ products, marketing and sales methods
• Proactive in arranging, attending and providing follow-up on exhibitions and conferences
• Significant travel within the sales area to meet customers, attend meetings, exhibitions or training. Occasional international travel may also be required
